Retaining Walls

While it is easy to think of a retaining wall as a necessary evil to retain soil and level off uneven ground, we believe that a retaining wall can be a beautiful part of landscaping that can be both functional and gorgeous. Because of our unique building style, we are able to take multiple types of stone with varying colors, shapes and texture to create a work of art that is unique to each customer. Retaining walls are a perfect way to add more curb appeal to your home. See the Retaining Wall Gallery

Steps and Walks

Nothing makes a more immediate impact on curb appeal like a beautiful new stone step. Using stone in a step is only natural because of it's innate durability. No matter if it is a simple step or a grand entryway, replacing a front step is a great investment in your home. See the Steps and Walks Gallery

Patios and Sitting Walls

In Minnesota, we love our outdoors. Installing a patio is a great opportunity to increase your living space and enjoy our beautiful summers. Including a seat wall in your patio design will maximize the utility of built-in seating and increase the versatility of the area. See the Patios and Sitting Walls Gallery

Stones & Materials

The best part of working with stone is that there are endless variety. While there are several very popular kinds, we thoroughly enjoy working any and types of stone. Additionally, when installed properly, stone is just as (if not more) durable than concrete products such as pavers and retaining wall block. While we do install these concrete products, we believe that when you compare stone to other products, everything else seems pedestrian.

Before finding Colonial Stone, we were of the mind that it wasn’t possible to replace this wall without switching from natural stone.

The work was done over the course of 3 days—including removing stone from my existing wall, excavation and a proper re-build with care taken for drainage behind my wall.

The appearance of the new wall exceeded my expectations. When the job was complete the site was left in great shape. I will be using them in the future to replace my cracked concrete driveway with pavers—I’m very enthusiastic in recommending Colonial Stone.
